Back in 2005, Alain Lefebvre and Jérôme Deuson decided to create a unique label that would be able to propose something different, experimental while being accessible for everyone who has a minimum sense of beauty. The Stilll label was created with the release of Arden, one of the most impressive improv band of these last few years. Since then, the label has grown and probably won a notoriety that easily overpass Belgium. Actually the label still suffers from a lack of recognition in its local press while being mentioned in many foreign papers. But things should change with the success of bands such as Babils and the catchy De Portables album, TIM, which is probably one the best releases of 2007 without any doubts.
In 2007, Alain Lefebvre created the Off label as a response to his musical desires. Stilll & Off are two radically different labels in terms of music.
Jérôme Deuson is well known for creating music under the aMute moniker with two releases on the Canadian imprint Intr-Version Records which granted him with reviews such as Best record of 2006 (Le Soir), a music as challenging as accessible (The Wire), purely outstanding (Monochrom), One of the best record of 2006 (Fennesz for Pitchforkmedia)… and many more. Not only Jérôme musical approach allowed him to tour in the biggest venues and festival around the world (Sonar 2005, Domino Festival 2005, La Route du Rock 2007, New York, Montreal …) but also gave him trust and passion for other’s people talent. Jerome is in charge of publicity, design, promotion and artistic direction of Stilll together with Alain. A new aMute album is also planned for 2008 on Stilll but this time as an impressive rock’n roll imbroglio band.
